I have been so preoccupied with things that I haven’t even noticed Halloween is just around the corner. For the sake of the kiddos, and to create Halloween memories for years to come, we had a couple of Halloween activities with them, mainly involving the traditional decorating of pumpkins. DIY Child Astronaut Costume Halloween is quickly approaching. So, in the next couple of days I will be sharing some of my favorite DIY Halloween costume ideas from around the web. I always say my greatest inspiration are my kids, Phoenix and Connor. I create based on their interests and personalities. My latest invention is no exception. They have been into the movie “Over the Hedge” (the main character is a raccoon), and Phoenix suggested a raccoon hat. I thought that was a great idea. My only problem was the raccoon color palette of grays and blacks does not really make a great color palette for children’s items. Phoenix used to eat absolutely everything as a baby…then something changed and he became a picky eater. He loves fruit and some raw vegetables, but has trouble with cooked veggies and he is big on textures…and presentation. If it doesn’t look right he declares after a quick glance “I don’t like it”. Mommy is always trying to make his food fun to entice him to eat…yes, it takes a bit of extra effort, but it is worth it. Here’s an owl I put together for him with pita bread and lots of veggies:
